| Differences in virtual tour technologies. |

Not all property tours are created equal.
The number of vendors offering Real Estate tours is staggering. Making the right decision on what technology to use has become even more difficult, as the industry is employing every possible gimmick to capture your investment.
SD Real Estate Video uses FULL MOTION VIDEO for our Real Estate Tour process. Our videos are shot using HDTV VIDEO cameras mounted on stabilized, full motion platforms. We understand that a series of still photographs with digital zooms and pans is no substitute for a 3D flying camera moving up flights of stairs and across the kitchen in one continuous motion. Moving camera shots will provide a cinematic experience unlike any you have seen using traditional tour technologies. SD Real Estate Video produces FULL MOTION VIDEO using the same techniques and equipment as you see on broadcast television. We have portable lighting systems, HDTV cameras, green screen technology and Hollywood grade editing and production equipment.
Static photographic tour sideshows are still just pictures.
The overwhelming majority of Real Estate virtual tours are simple scrolling photographs, that present the property in a method that amounts to little more then a static presentation slide show. No depth perception and moving features such as trees blowing in the wind, roaring fireplaces or backyard waterfalls are ever shown. Unfortunately, it is these features that often attract the attention of the buyer and invoke the strong emotional attachment that you need to help make the sale.
Using a "video" that is derived from photographs alone may be a inexpensive and expedient way of placing the property online, but only serves to defeat the entire reason of placing the tour online in the first place, a portable and exciting presentation of the property. Sophisticated buyers will know the difference, and they are already demanding a higher level of service as indicated by the recent addition of VIDEO to the REALTOR.com® Showcase Listings. We can make you listing stand out from the rest and be light years ahead of the competition with FULL MOTION VIDEO TOURS...today.
Panoramic photographs have all the same limitations of regular photos, and a few more of their own.
Panoramic photographs do provide some advantage over photograph based video tours. Because they increase the field of vision of the property, they allow the buyer to see a much larger portion of the room. however, they still provide a still view of the room, lifeless and frozen in time. In addition, panoramic images cause severe and distracting distortions in the viewing perspective. This seriously detracts from the natural appearance of the location, and appears as if the entire room is located in some sort of spherical bubble. Add distortion to the rapid 360 degree spinning nature of the panoramic photo interface, and the choice of what technology to use when quality counts becomes clear. Full Motion Video. |
